Federal Budget 2022: Trudeau Liberals outline spending priorities following pact with NDP | LIVE
The federal Liberals are set to unveil their latest budget on Thursday that aims to balance promises made in the 2021 election campaign, in the pact with the NDP, and recently to Canada’s global defence allies.
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland is scheduled to table the budget in the House of Commons this afternoon. Global News will have live coverage and analysis of the budget starting at 4 p.m. ET.
The economy has fared better than expected over the past few months, and with higher prices for oil, it’s expected to pad the government’s bottom line and help offset any new spending to be announced.
Among the promises are measures aimed at addressing housing affordability concerns that have been rising alongside prices and rent since the September election.
