Kieran Tierney has sent a goodbye message to Calum Chambers after it was announced that the Englishman had joined Aston Villa on a permanent deal.
Most transfers these days are made known to fans by the media weeks before they actually happen. Chambers’ move yesterday surprised everyone, even the journalists who often have all the information.
Aston Villa noticed that the versatile Englishman had just six months left on his contract and they swooped in to get a deal done – swiftly and quietly.
2) Journalist says Arsenal have rejected side’s bid for Nketiah
Dharmesh Sheth has told Sky Sports’ Transfer Show that he has been told by one source today that Arsenal have rejected a bid from Crystal Palace for Eddie Nketiah.

3) Romano says Arsenal have reached ‘full agreement’ to complete first signing of 2022
It’s day 28 of the January transfer window and Arsenal are yet to complete a signing, but that’s about to change now as Matt Turner is set to join the Gunners soon.
The 27-year-old American, who hasn’t played a game for a European club yet, is highly rated over in the United States and his performances over the last year seems to have caught Edu and Mikel Arteta’s eye.
Romano has revealed that he will stay on loan at his current club until the end of this season and will only move to North London in the summer.
4) Huge blow for Arsenal as Real Madrid refuse to let striker leave
Arsenal will have to turn their focus elsewhere with Real Madrid refusing to allow Luka Jovic to leave in January, according to reports.
Real Madrid striker Jovic is one player who both Arsenal and Newcastle are reportedly keen on – but it now looks likely he will remain at the Bernabeu until at least the end of the season.
5) Wolves will demand £40m from Arsenal and Manchester United for Ruben Neves
Wolves are demanding £40 million from Manchester United and Arsenal for Ruben Neves, according to reports.
The 24-year-old has attracted interest from both United and Arsenal, who are keen to strengthen their midfield options before the end of the January transfer window.
However, Wolves are in a strong negotiating position as the Portugal international still has over two years remaining on his current contract.
6) Arsenal now considering move for Jonathan David
Arsenal are desperate to add a new forward to the ranks before the window shuts on Monday and remain keen on landing Lille striker, Jonathan David.
The Canadian international is one of the hottest properties on the European market at the moment and has already banged in 16 goals this season for the French side. David, 22, also has an outstanding record for Canada, scoring 18 in 24 to enhance his growing reputation in the game.
However, according to ESPN, his days in Lille could be numbered. And Arsenal are sniffing.
7) Arthur is pushing Arsenal to make improved bid
The Arsenal hierarchy may have decided to walk away from an agreement ahead of a potential loan for Arthur Melo, but Calciomercato reports that the Juventus midfielder is continuing to push for a move.
